It has been a long time coming since March…
Hi Everyone!
I know it has been quite some time since my initial post from March of this year. Let’s have a small chat and I can fill you in on the progress of A Leisurely Stroll…
My target date for publications was April 12, since it holds such a true sentimental value for me. April 12 is the anniversary of my third endo surgery, and the surgery that proved to be the most life changing for me. We can talk about that some other time.
So the book was uploaded to Barnes and Noble Press April 11, the night before the big day.
Although my manuscript was approved quite rapidly, the book has undergone some changes since it’s original draft. And all of these changes have proven to be good changes! I have had time to work with some extra formatting in the hopes that this book reads smoothly and has a professional feel to it.
Besides updating, there is one other reason I needed to take some extra time with putting the book for sale. I needed to make sure that becoming a self-publisher would not affect my work in any way. I also needed to make sure I was secure enough into my position, since I recently started in my new position last November. Now that all is well, I definitely believe the time has come.
Where we stand today:
This morning I sent in the last edit for the paperback book. The inside pages were approved, but the cover was off so the file needed to be reuploaded to the site.
I also needed to upload the inside and cover for the eBook version, and make sure it had it’s own ISBN number. That was also completed this morning. It has been sent off for approval.
The hardcover has been cleared and ready to go!
I would like all of the versions to be available at once. Even though I believe for marketing dropping one at a time may draw “hype.” But since this endeavor just includes me and my trusty editor and bestie Michelle, I think it is beneficial to try to distribute this as efficiently as possible, so that whoever has been waiting to get their hands on it has a few options. The price points are low and I am thankful I was able to do so since it is my first book and it is quite a short read (on purpose; read my first blog post!)
As I have mentioned before, I am planning on releasing more works. So the more people who become interested in my writing, the better! As always, thank you for the support, and keep your eyes open for the next few weeks. Once we get our final approval, we will have lift off!
:)
